Novak Djokovic visited what was left of his old tennis club in Kopaonik

World No. 1 tennis champion Novak Djokovic visited his childhood tennis club in Kopaonik, Serbia on Monday. In his Facebook Live post, he showed how the 1999 NATO bombing of what was then Yugoslavia left the tennis wall and courts ravaged.

Djokovic called the tennis wall, where he used to practice, his “favorite tennis wall in the entire world” and said the place has special meaning to him.

Although most of the club has been left in ruins for the past 17 years, the 12-time Grand Slam champion found joy in simply hitting a tennis ball against his old tennis wall.

“For me,” Djokovic said in the video, “it’s probably the most beautiful tennis club in the world.”
